Snapchat, the popular picture messaging app that famously turned down a $3
billion takeover offer from Facebook, is understood to be planning a new
service that would show advertisements and offer television and movie clips.
Snapchat Discovery is slated for launch in November, providing the start-up with a steady source of revenue.
At least a dozen media companies, including newspapers, magazines and television networks, have discussed providing content for Snapchat Discovery, The Wall Street Journal reported. They include the Daily Mail’s MailOnline website.
The product would let users read daily editions of publications, as well as watch video clips
